Disability Access

Assessment for Viewpoint Studios – Sunbury

Ground Floor

To access the building there are two tiled steps up to the front door which is painted red and opens to a width of 93cm. The pavement outside is 153cm wide, so a ramp for wheelchair access is not possible.

The ground floor consists of an entrance lobby with a staircase to the left–hand side, a ‘ground floor’ studio with demonstration kitchen, 2 unisex toilets and a store/photocopier room.

Ground floor studio:

First floor studio:

A flight of 10 stairs (74cm wide) up to 1st floor landing with steps to 3 to the LHS and 5 steps to the RHS. The 1st floor consists of a ‘middle floor’ studio, kitchen, office and one unisex toilet.

Middle floor studio:

2nd floor studio:

Flight of 9 stairs up to landing with 4 steps to LHS and 5 to the RHS.

The 2nd floor consists of a ‘top floor’ studio with demonstration kitchen and one unisex toilet.

Top floor studio:

Client room: Turning right at the landing, walk up 5 steps to landing with client room door opening to 77cm wide.

Respondent area: Turning left at the landing, walk up 4 steps to the door to the greeting area, which opens to 64cm wide. This leads into the kitchen greeting area, with sliding doors into the main respondent room. At the back of the kitchen area there is a door that opens to 69cm wide and which leads into the toilet.

1 unisex toilet: This has a door that opens to 65cm wide.

Regrettably Viewpoint Studios at Sunbury–on–Thames, due to the age, width and layout of the building, does not have wheelchair access in the building. Nor can Viewpoint Studios offer a lift service to reach higher floors.
